Mauricio Morales
Visual Artist / Graphic Designer
Fuelled by a deep love for life and an ever-curious mind, I am a versatile artist and designer based in Toronto, Canada, with roots in San Salvador, El Salvador. My earliest artistic moments were shared with my father, the esteemed Salvadoran painter and interior designer Jorge Morales. He taught me to cherish all art forms, especially painting, illustration, and architecture.
I find immense inspiration in Impressionism, Surrealism, Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Aboriginal and classic art, as well as contemporary illustration and photography. My artistic sensibilities are shaped by visionaries such as Antoni GaudĂ, Magritte, the Group of Seven, Salvador DalĂ, and Tamara de Lempicka.
My formal training in Graphic Design and Commercial Art took place in San Salvador, El Salvador, and Ottawa, Canada, where I expanded my expertise in design, illustration, painting, and photography. My chosen mediums include pencil, ink, watercolour, acrylics, and digital media.
